Corey McNair Director Public Relations
Corey McNair is an energetic and thoughtful writer who can efficiently illuminate the meaning of stories. As a Communications and English major at the University of Connecticut, he has focused his studies on Mass Media. In high school he served as an Editor on the school newspaper for two years. In June of 2008 he was among only twenty-five college students selected for Camp Take-A-Stand; a journalism leadership workshop where he met and interacted with renowned writers such as Ralph Nader and Amy Goodman.
McNair has carried his structured forms of writing into creative fields as well. He has been a member of the Stratford Library Creative Writing Group since spring 2005. In August of 2008 he voluntarily edited and oversaw the publication of the Stratford Library Associations Varied Voices, a bi-annual magazine of poetry and prose. Recently he helped in planning the May event Rising Stars, featuring teenagers from around Stratford sharing their art, music, dancing and writing talents.
In addition to the creative writing group, McNair has also held a job at the Stratford Public Library for over four years, receiving a promotion in September of last year from Page to Circulation Assistant. He aided in recognition of the library through the production of several Podcasts in audio and video form featuring the writers of the group reading and discussing their pieces in-depth. These Podcasts were honored by the Connecticut Library Association in 2008 with an honorable mention for Outstanding Library Public Relations in New Media.
In regards to RevitalArts, Corey McNair intends to help spread the mission of the organization to enthusiastic youth. Through his creativeness as a writer and effectiveness at conveying messages, McNair believes that he can help in creating engaging ways to aid the growth of the group.
