Adam Spektor Director of Music
Adam Spektor is currently a junior at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH, majoring in audio recording and music. There, he hosts a radio show, "The Spektrum," at the campus radio station, WRUW, edits the Focus section of the school's student newspaper, The Observer and performs in the Case Symphonic Winds, the University Circle Wind Ensemble and the Footlighters Pit Orchestra. He also maintains a music review blog, currently entitled "Or Something Like That" (name pending).
When he's not in Cleveland, though, Adam can usually be found in his hometown of Milford, CT, a town that boasts something slightly intangible that always keeps pulling him back. Past artistic endeavors that took place in the town that fostered his youth have included making numerous short (and not so short) films, co-writing and directing a play entitled Death of a Sailor, and acting in several plays throughout his youth.
As implied by his major, Adam has always had a natural love of music. While he never seriously studied it, in the conservatory sense, until his sophomore year of college, Adam has still played clarinet for about five years and guitar for about seven. More than performing music, Adam enjoys studying popular music and culture, and has since he was roughly six years old. He proudly boasts an iTunes library of nearly 24,000 songs at the time of his writing (most of which he knows, increasing almost daily) and a developing but passionate history of popular, rock, alternative and independent music of the last fifty years or so. He also has a fleeting interest in songwriting, although his faith in such abilities has kept him from pursuing the art further.
